How does 5G work? 5G networks can be built in different ways from multiple bands of wavelength spectrum: low-band, mid-band, and high-band. High-band millimetre wave frequencies have greater bandwidth available to carry more data in dense urban areas but require cell sites to be in close proximity and have limited penetration in buildings. Mid-band balances speed and range, providing broader coverage than high-band.
5G is going to be the fastest and most advanced generation. 5G networks feature much lower latency, higher capacity, and increased bandwidth compared to 4G. 5G has been tested, clocking speeds up to 5 gigabits per second (Gbps). 5G will provide the highest download and upload speed. While 4G provides speed up to 1Gbps, 5G is expected to provide speed up to 95Gbps.
